At Urban Centre Mumbai (UCM), we have been working extensively to improve walkability in Mumbai through footpath re-engineering in close association with Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). Our aim is to create a set of high standards for the improvement of footpaths and pedestrianised areas through projects in different wards, showcasing appropriate and effective urban elements which could be further adopted across Greater Mumbai*. Our objective is to establish a comprehensive set of footpath and urban design guidelines for implementation across the city so as to improve and enhance walkability, reduce visual and physical clutter and introduce universal accessibility. UCM has achieved the above through successful implementation of the below projects.
